Acceptance
By creating an account or using BowLog, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
The service
BowLog is a bowfishing harvest-logging app: log harvests, save spots, view conditions, and optionally view a community map of fuzzed shared harvests from other users.
Subscriptions and billing
Spot mapping, history, and the conditions panel are free for all users, and free accounts can log up to 3 harvests. Unlimited harvest logging, keeping your harvests private while still viewing the community map, and creating or joining crews require an active paid subscription. The community map itself is also available on the free tier by opting into sharing your own GPS-captured harvests. Current paid pricing: $3.99 / month or $39.99 / year (annual is the featured option and saves ~17%).
Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Manage subscription, which opens Stripe's secure customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and you retain community access until then. We do not pro-rate refunds for partial billing periods.
Pricing changes
We may change our prices in the future. If we do, existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days in advance and may cancel before the new price takes effect. Pre-paid annual subscriptions retain their current price for the remainder of the paid period. Where technically practical, customers continue at the price they originally signed up on for the duration of an uninterrupted subscription.
Community sharing & location privacy
You retain ownership of your harvests. When (and only when) you opt in to sharing, you grant BowLog a non-exclusive license to display your fuzzed harvest areas (rounded to approximately a one-mile area), the species, and the date to other authenticated users with community access. Your exact GPS coordinates never leave your account; the fuzzing happens server-side and cross-user reads go through a security-definer database function that only ever returns the fuzzed values. You can revoke sharing at any time by turning the toggle off; your entries stop appearing on the community map immediately.
Bowfishing regulations content (informational only)
BowLog publishes summarized bowfishing regulations for selected states as a convenience. This information is informational only and is NOT legal advice. Regulations change. Each state's summary links to the official state wildlife agency; you are solely responsible for confirming current rules with the agency before fishing. BowLog is not responsible for any errors, omissions, or out-of-date information in these summaries, and is not liable for any citations, fines, or other consequences arising from reliance on the content of this site.
Acceptable use
Use BowLog only for lawful purposes. Don't fabricate locations to game the sharing bar, don't attempt to reverse-engineer the fuzzing logic to recover exact coordinates, don't abuse the service, and don't interfere with other users' use of the service.
Regulations
BowLog is a logging tool, not a legal reference. Bowfishing laws, seasons, legal species, and licenses vary by jurisdiction and change over time. You are solely responsible for knowing and following local regulations.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
BowLog is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.
Termination
You may stop using BowLog at any time and request account deletion (see Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms, with notice where reasonable.
Changes
We will update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be flagged in-app or via email before they take effect.
