What we collect

When you create an account, we store your email address (for sign-in) and any data you choose to log: harvests (species, size, weight, notes, photo, date/time), the GPS coordinates you attach to a harvest or save as a spot, and basic usage events we use to measure the funnel (signup, first harvest logged, paywall viewed, etc.).

How we use it

Your data is used to render your own personal harvest history, spot map, conditions panel, and stats. We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We use it to operate the service and to understand how the product is used at an aggregate level.

How community sharing works

BowLog's community map is opt-in and reversible. When (and only when) you turn on "Share my harvests with the community" in Settings:

  • Your GPS-captured harvests become visible to other users on the community map — shown as a ~1-mile fuzzed area, never your exact coordinates.
  • Your photos, notes, exact GPS, and identity are never shared.
  • You can turn sharing off at any time; previously-shared harvests stop appearing on the community map immediately.

Storage and security

We use Supabase (Postgres) for data and storage. Row-level security ensures that users can only read and write their own rows. Photos are stored in object storage with access keyed to the owning user. HTTPS is used everywhere.

Account deletion

You can request account deletion by emailing us at bowlogapp@gmail.com. We will permanently delete your profile, harvests, spots, photos, and any community-visible entries within 30 days. We may retain limited records as required by law (e.g., billing records for tax purposes).

Children

BowLog is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We will update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be flagged in the app or via email before they take effect.
